Practice

An experimental performance piece

Practice

Practice was an experimental performance I did at Grant Recital Hall about a pianist who cracks under the pressure. Using MAX/MSP, microphones, and a wide variety of MIDI Controllers, the piece utilized swirling surround sound to illustrate the compounding anxiety of a performer in preparation. Each performance was improvized around a 4 act structure. I performed as the Pianist, William Klein as the Heckler, and Cameron Osborn as the Beating Heart.
