The BetterTab project was an initiative I started to try and solve the problem of needlessly difficult guitar tablature. Guitar tablature is a reading system for guitar that emphasizes fingerings rather than musical notes. Sadly, much of the guitar tablature found on the Internet is needlessly difficult to play, making learning guitar for beginners difficult. My algorithm solves this NP-Hard scheduling problem by intelligently applying constraints, thus making guitar easier!
